Computer Use Policy

  1. You must have your library card in order to use the computers
    • If you do not have your card, we can look up your account with a photo id
      • Driver’s license and passports are acceptable forms of id
      • If a patron has outstanding fines {$6.00 +) on their account, they cannot use the computer under any circumstances.
      • Card holders must also sign a system wide internet use agreement policy before using the computers.
      • If you do not have a library card, ask a staff member how you can sign up for one!
  2. Guest Passes: Are for those individuals who are visiting out of town, recently moved, or do not have a card.
    • You must provide a photo id
    • If a patron has outstanding fines ($6.00 +) on their account, they will not be granted a guest pass under any circumstances.
  3. Each patron will have 1 hour per day for computer use.
    • Staff will grant a time extension on a case-by-case basis.
  4. You must be 5 years of age or older to use the computer with adult supervision.
  5. Children ages 5 and younger may use our preschool computer with adult supervision.
    • This computer does not require a library card.
  6. You must be 12 years of age or older to use the computer without adult supervision.
  7. You must come to the front desk and pay for your print-outs for Staff to release them to the printer
    • Printing cost:
      • Letter and Legal-size copies are $.25 per page – black and white, $.50 per page – color.
      • Ledger size copies (11″x14″) are $.50 per page – black and white, $1.00 per page – color.
  8. You must provide your own headphones for the computer.
    • Headphones are required for playing music and listening to training videos. Staff reserves the right to ask a patron to turn down their volume at any time. A patron who fails to follow staff direction and turn down the volume will have their computer time ended for the day.
  9. Food and/or Drink is NOT permitted near computer workstations at any time.
    • Patrons violating this policy will be given one verbal warning before losing their computer time for the day.
