“Uncle Tom’s Cabin”. 

This 1852 novel opened the world’s eyes to the horrors of slavery.  It was a major influence of beginning our Civil War.  Many have heard reference to this controversial book…..read it and find out what really happens.  You may not agree with every character and their decisions, but it provides excellent food for thought—especially during our nation’s efforts to deconstruct racism.
