April 17 at 10am: Lemon Meringue Pie

Ingredients:

  • 1 pie crust dough (homemade or store bought)
  • 5 large eggs
  • 1 1/3 cups water
  • 1 cup sugar + 1/2 cup additional
  • 1/3 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt + 1/8 teaspoon additional
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, room temp
  • 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • Supplies: 9 inch pie dish, whisk, saucepan, measuring cups and spoons, bowl, spoon, spatula, electric mixer
